7 months already?!

Our little boy hit the 7 month mark today and although I know that 7 months isn't really significant as far as milestones go, I feel like I'm losing my little baby and I'm gaining a toddler.  It is truly bittersweet.  On one hand it is so, so, so fun to watch him grow and develop!  He gets so much smarter everyday!  The first time he recognized my voice without seeing my face melted my heart!  On the other hand, I sometimes just want to lay on the couch and cuddle with him like I did when he was 2 weeks old.  You know that cuddle where his head is settled perfectly in the nape of your neck and it seems to just fit like a puzzle piece?  I miss that.  It is so cliche but they really do grow up so fast.  Anyway, enough of that! Happy 7 months my baby boy!

Thanksgiving 2008

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!  We had such a packed day but it was a lot of fun!  First, Mike had to work from 5am-10am, then drive home (1hr each way) to help me make the deviled eggs and set up the relish trays.  Then we went to his parents house for dinner first.  After dinner, we went shooting to relieve some of that holiday stress! :)  After shooting we packed up and headed to my parents house where we ate again!  There was a lot of company in town because of Julia's wedding so it was fun to catch up!  After dinner we celebrated Jackson's 2nd birthday! It was a busy, busy weekend!

Update on the Update

Holy crap!  I know it has been a super long time since I updated my blog (thanks for making me aware Jordan) but I lost my camera for a little while.  I found it later in the couch.  I swear those couches eat everything!  I bet if you looked right now in your cushions you would find at least ONE thing that you have either A) been searching high and low for or B) never knew you lost but now that you have found you feel like jumping for joy.  Anyway, that is besides the point.  So bare with me as I post many random things in a row...

Crawling? More like slithering...

Hunter has started to attempt to crawl.  He gets up on hands and knees with ease and even hands and feet!  He can move his knees or his hands but he hasn't quite mastered the hands and knees together!

Look at that mean mug!

I took this video in the beginning of November when he was first slithering.  Sorry the quality is horrible and it's super dark!  I had to put it on here though because he was in such a goofy mood!  He would crawl toward me and then stop and giggle!   Enjoy!

P.S. He did not hit his head on the dresser...but I thought he was going to, which is why I stopped taping.

T-Ball

Mikey started playing T-Ball at the beginning of this month and he absolutely loves it!  They play behind the Surprise Staduim where we went to see one of Jeff's games (I posted about it earlier).  Anyway, because he recognizes the field Jeff played on and it is right next to his field, Mikey is convinced he plays with Jeff (just on a different team)!  Watch out Jeff, Mikey is coming for you...

The 5 year old perspective

Mikey is a very mature five year old in many ways.  The other day I was taking some pictures of the boys and he asked if he could try taking pictures too.  I handed him the camera and off he went.  About 30 minutes later he brought it back to me and I found about a hundred random pics.  I cracked up at what I found!  It was amazing to see life from a five-year-old mind!  This post probably isn't nearly as interesting to you as it is to me...but I couldn't let it go unposted. Here are some of Mikey's masterpieces...   :)

...to be a kid again...

Mike and I went to Hobby Lobby recently to get some supplies for a craft project.  While we were there, we saw some modeling clay on sale.  Mike, being a kid at heart, went nuts. He went into this huge dissertation about how much he loved modeling clay as a kid and hated play-doh because it smelled and dried out.  He kept going about how much Mikey would love it, etc. etc. etc.  It was hilarious!  He was seriously like a child trying to convince his mom by not giving her time to say no and giving a million reasons as to why it was a justified purchase.  Anyway, so we bought some modeling clay for Mike, I mean Mikey and drove home.  When Mikey came over that weekend, he loved it!  He played with it for probably 3 hours straight and then again when Mike got home from work.  I have to admit, it was fun to watch them make clay people and put them to life.  Here are some pictures from the day Mikey got his clay.

Please excuse the random blue marks on Mikey's face. He and another kid on the bus decided to draw on eachother...
These are little clay hats Mikey made.  He made one for Hunter and one for himself in the appropriate size.  He is so funny! He put them on for himself and Hunter then posed for the camera.  He is such a good older brother!

Hunter doesn't really know how to feel about his new hat.

Porter and Hunter!

Katie Huff (formerly Jones) and I have been friends for like eleven years and we were inseparable in our elementary school days!  Anyway, when we were in like 7th grade one day we were listening to Hanson (as we normally did) and we made a promise to each other that we would someday get married at the same time, live next door to each other, be pregnant together and raise our kids together complete with white picket fence. :)  Well, Katie got married first, about a year before I did and we never quite found places next door to each other...however, we DID get pregnant at relatively the same time and we each had a boy one month from each other.  I loved having a pregnant buddy and being able to share parenting stories with her! Anyway, a couple weeks ago we got the boys together to hang out.  Katie and I chatted most of the time, but we managed to get a burp cloth sewn in between!  Here are some pics of the boys!

Katie, I love you girl!  I can't wait for our boys to get older together!

Halfway to 1!

Hunter was officially 6 months old on the 8th so I snapped a few pictures. I can't believe it has been half a year from the 39 hour screamingly painful delivery.  (With a beautiful end result of course) Happy 6 months baby boy!

Halloween Day!

Ya, ya, ya, I know it was almost a month ago, but here are some pictures of Hunter on the actual DAY!  He was adorable and pretty much slept the whole time.  There was a little carnival going on in our neighborhood so we walked around there and then went and picked up Mikey from his mom's house.  He was already out of his costume by the time we got there, so no pics of Mikey this year.  Anyway, H's first Halloween was a success and he didn't whine about his costume at all.  He was actually in love with the tail and he would play with the hair on the end of it so inquisitively.  He is always trying to figure everything out! Here are some of my fav's.

I just couldn't help it

Okay, so I know I already have a few videos on here and one of those is of Hunter laughing, but I just couldn't resist putting this on here.  I crack up at his deep belly laugh so I ran and grabbed our camera! Our dog Branigan was so excited because we had just walked in the door that he started to play with Hunter.  Hunter thought it was the funniest thing he has ever seen!  Don't worry our dog is super sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly, he was just playing with Hunter!  I guess it can look scary to people who don't know Branigan's personality! Anyway...Enjoy.

Pumpkin Patch!

Mike and I took the boys to a pumpkin patch nearby for a little Halloween fun! We went after the sun had gone down which made the corn maze more interesting!  We got some great pics with the boys!

Mikey was so unsure of the corn maze.  He would say "I'm Scared" like every 5 seconds in a whiney voice for added drama.  He really wanted to be tough but this picture says it all.  Mike kept making him tell us which way to go and I would try to sneak off to scare him. Every-time I would make a noise or rustle the stocks of corn he would cling to the stroller and say "I know thats you Dana" in a very shaky, tearful voice.  Poor kid.  I must get that teasing from Nick.

Just hanging out on the couch
Here we are at my parents Trunk-or-Treat party for their ward.  This is Mike's mom "Grammy" with Hunter.  I will add more pictures from Halloween Night.
I just thought the giraffe was so fitting for Hunter's long and thin frame!  Plus, it was complete with a tail and mane that looked like a mohawk.  ADORABLE.

Just A Few Cute Ones...

I have a bunch of cute pictures of Hunter and I thought I would share!  I really wish we had Mikey more often so that there would be more of him too!  Anyway, enjoy!

I love his expression here!

Well, and here too.  He looks so scared in this one! Gotta love the furrowed brow...

Note to Self:  Leave the ink footprints to the nurses in the hospital...
Now I know the reason why they don't do hand-prints when babies are born.

Being Silly!

On Saturday October 11th we went to see Jeff play for his birthday.  It was such a fun day!

Just taking a little snoozer before all the action

The Boys being silly in Mikey's Room.  Hunter just adores Mikey!

This next picture is at Jeff's baseball game with Uncle "Bah", Aunt Kristi and Aunty Ju-Ju.  Hunter loved Clayton's hat and Mikey LOVED Kristi because she bought him some snacks.  Clayton and Mikey making mean faces:

I think this picture is so sweet!  Mikey was being such a Ham-bone and Hunter thought it was the funniest thing!
Aunty Ju-Ju tickling the boys!  I think this picture is one of my favorites because their smiles are so genuine!
Thank you Julia for getting us tickets and coming all the way out to Surprise! It sure was a fun day!  It was great to see Clayton and Kristi too!
