Paint Ball
Our Hunter family Reunion kicked off on Saturday June 27th, 2009. We started the day with a healthy dose of competition. I have never been paint-balling before, and I have to say it is a great release! :) We had so much fun! We went to a beautiful private meadow in SLC that was owned by a friend of Nicks. The grass was waist-high, making it perfect for hiding! Thanks Nick for putting it all together! Also, thanks to Kristi, Nana and Jessika for watching the kids!!
We had our Jeep parked behind a huge tree outside of the playing boundaries, but Jordan still managed to hit it. He was aiming for Julia who was behind a bunker. I told him that if he aimed for the Jeep he would have hit Julia! (The bunker was a solid 10 feet to the right of the Jeep) I love this picture because he is convinced that it wasn't him who hit the Jeep and he is defending himself desperately. :) We just loved giving him a hard time, he actually played better than me!
This is the Place Park:
I had never been to This is the Place Park in SLC and I have to say, it is absolutely gorgeous. We had a beautiful picnic lunch with the whole family!
Caden and Mikey were such great pals the whole trip. The big grassy areas were heaven for these boys!

Beautiful Maia!

Pez: An under-rated treat (according to Kristi and Mike)
These were meant to be the prizes for the winner of the seed spitting contest. Seed spitting contests don't work very well when you buy seedless watermelons. We still love you Wardy.

This was our spot for lunch. It was perfect!
Temple Square:
The temple was our last stop for the day. After we parked, we walked across the street and through the gates. We were headed toward the Visitor's Center when Mikey all of the sudden piped up "Now WHERE'S the Shirley Temple?!" We just about died laughing.

Here is the family on top of the Conference Center. I had never been to the new conference center, so we took the tour. It is beautiful. I think the most interesting thing to me was the architectural design! It amazed me that the upper balconies were stabilized by balance and when they fill the center it shifts 1/8th of an inch or so. Its just crazy to think about!
Jordan and Jackson checking out the wall on the roof of the conference center.
Jordan was so deep in thought when I took this picture. Fitting, no?
Throwing pennies into the fountain on the roof of the conference center. I love how Caden is studying Mikey. He is so intrigued.
Making a wish.
I love these boys!!
This concludes Day One of the HFR 2009.
